  • Wild life sanctuaries are a must visit which includes Mahananda, Chapramari, Gorumara. One can spot elephants, tigers, bison, peacock etc.

Best time to visit

You can visit Dooars all through the year. If you plan for safari and entering the reserve forest the best time shall be in between mid-September to May. Monsoon hits here during July- September and during that time all forests will remain closed.

  • Railway : The nearest station of Dooars is New Mal Junction. It takes only 30min to reach the place from this junction. Train like Kanchenkanya takes you from Kolkata to New Mal.
  • Bagdogra airport is the nearest airport to reach Dooars. It takes nearly 2 hours to reach Murti from Bagdogra.
  • Siliguri to Dooars by road is 69 kilometers and takes approximately 1 hour 41 minutes to reach. Many tea gardens and beautiful weather will accompany you on your road trip.
