Earlier, the place was not so popular and as a result, not so much transportation facilities are available to reach the hill from the railway station. At present, the station is well connected up to the Joychandi Pahar and the surrounding locality that one can reach here easily.

This hill destination is a good option for trekking and lots of trekkers are seen here. Visiting this place does not mean that you have to go for trekking, you can climb to a small height and enjoy the view of the places surrounding the resort. This includes the hill trio and also the natural beauty of the place. Especially in the springtime, the colour of nature shows off and fills the tourist minds with peace and joy. The lush greens nature along with the agricultural scenes will take you out of the daily tantrums of life. There is a temple on a certain height of the JoyChandi hills, which you can visit and offer puja. On demand, the local entertainments like Chau dance, Santhali dance can be seen. This place is in the Purulia district. Thus, you can go for a visit to the well-known Ajodhya Hills. The destination has recently become very famous with the Tuga Dam and nature’s beautiful sceneries, including waterfalls. The Maithan Dam, the Panchet Dam and the remains of Garpanchakot can also be visited.

How to Reach Joychandi
Take any train from Howrah towards Purulia and reach Adra junction. From here you can take any local train towards Asansol and land on the next station, i.e. Joychandi Pahar. The other route through train is to reach Asansol from Howrah and take a local train towards Purulia to reach the intermediate station Joychandi Pahar. From there you can get local transport to reach the resort.
