Sunrise pointAhaldara is famous for its astonishing view of sunrise over Kanchenjunga peaks. On a bright and sunny day, Gangtok, Kalimpong, Algara, Bagora, Tinchuley hills are vividly visible from this point.
Shittong   Orange OrchardsJust a kilometer away from Ahaldara is the Shittong Village. The village has abundant orange orchards. In October and November the orange trees are laden ed with fruit.
Birding LatpancharAn avid birdwatcher and a photographer will consider the place as their heaven. Common birds have seen Sultan Tit, Red-headed Trogan, Orient Hornbill, Rufous Hornbill, Long-tailed Hornbill, Common green Magpie, Darjeeling Woodpecker, Oriental cuckoo, Chestnut-headed Tesia, Black-throated Sunbird.
Bengal SafariBengal Safari Park is situated within the forested area of Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is the first animal safari park of the North Bengal region. You can get to see animals like leopards, tigers, and cats here.

Shelpu HillShelpu hill is a bewitching mirror of natural beauty. The dark, deep woods and chinchona plant depicts the true warmth of the place. The air remains heavy with the overwhelming fragrance of flowers through all seasons.
Coronation Bridge Supported by a single arch, the bridge crosses the Teesta River and connects the districts of Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling is a wonder and must-visit tourist spot.
Mahananda Wildlife SanctuaryOne of the main tourist attractions in this sanctuary which has covered little more than 158 square kilometer forest area. In 1958, it was declared as the sanctuary to protect Royal Bengal Tiger and Indian Bison. Except for those animals, other available animals are spotted deer, barking deer, bears, pangolins, Himalayan black bears and leopards.
Namthing PokhriThe lake situated near Shilpu Hill remains dry out for six months of the year and is famous as the homeland of Himalayan Salamander, an uncommon and endangered species.
Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological ParkThe zoo is established in the year 1958 and mainly famous for Snow leopard, Bengal tiger and many exotic animals. The park covers 67.56 acres of land.
Ghoom MonasteryThis popular destination amongst tourists is also known as Yiga Choeling Monastery. Painted in the ancient glory of the Buddhist culture with 15feet high statue of the Maitreya Buddha is one of the oldest monasteries in the region.

 

Best Time To Visit Ahaldara

In summer the pleasant weather invites guest to to Ahaldara. Monsoon is avoided due to landslide but Ahaldara isn’t that high a altitude to avoid. Whereas monsoon gives an excellent view of the small falls that come to life. The mighty Teesta also gets her full glory at this time. November early December gives most clear and cloudless sky to view the hills. These months are also the best time to view the orange orchards. Spring in hills get painted with numerous colorful flowers.

How To Reach Ahaldara
AirBagdogra Airport is nearest to Ahaldara. From the airport, it will take 1.5hours (approx.) by road to reach the resort.
RailwayIf you feel like availing a train, board any Mursidabad bound train from Howrah or Sealdah, drop down at New Jalpaiguri Station, rest will be taken care of by them.

 

RoadwayDriving for 14 hours (approx.) through the National and State highway will bring you to your destination. From NJP the place is just 2 hours drive.
