You can explore the surrounding area on foot quite comfortably. There are some easily accessible trekking routes that you can check. Spend some time in the nearby tea gardens, which will make for a perfect backdrop for taking good profile pictures. Also, wake up early in the morning to enjoy the magnificent sunrise. You can see the color changing on Mount Kanchenjungha if the sky remains clear.

There are several unique points of interest in and around Sittong that you should check out. You can spend time in Latpanchar or Mahananda Wildlife sanctuary, both of which places are famous for wildlife sightings. You can also check out Mungpoo, which has the Cinchona plantation, and a bungalow that is associated with Rabindranath Tagore. Kurseong is also at driving distance away from here.

Ahaldara viewpoint:

The highest point in Sittong area, this place offers a majestic bird’s eye view of the surrounding area. You can also see Mt. Kanchenjunga and its surrounding peaks from here. The walk to the top is a bit tiring, but the view is rewarding enough.

Namthing pokhri lake:

It is a solitary lake that is surrounded by pine trees. The place is famous for salamanders which are often seen here in monsoon times. When the lake is filled with water, it is a must-visit site.

How to Reach:

Rail: The nearest rail station is New Jalpaiguri Jn. From there it is nearly 48 km away which takes 1 hour and 50 minutes to reach by car.

Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra, 58 km away, and takes a car 2 hour and 20 minutes to reach the place.

Road: From Kolkata, the property is approximately 628 km away and it takes around 15 hours to reach via NH12 or NH19. in Kuseong district

Best Time To Visit:

In summer, from June to August, the weather is quite comfortable. It is one of the peak tourism seasons here. Winter is chilling in December and January, when the temperature may drop below the freezing point. Monsoon becomes quite problematic to travel but the green mountain offers beautiful view at that time.
