There are very few people who don’t like the mountains. It is safe to say that we are not one of them. Although we absolutely love the serenity and weather of a hill station, the fun becomes stale if the hill destination is an overcrowded tourist spot. However, we can assure you that it won’t be a problem if you plan to visit Chatakpur. The sleepy town of Chatakpur lies in the green lap of the Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary of Darjeeling, West Bengal. It is surrounded by long, green pine trees and a lush green mountain valley. The quaint, serene hamlet has a population of 90 only. There are 19 families and most of them own a homestay for tourists.

Our resort has a great location. It offers an amazing view of the Kanchenjunga Mountain Range. Sandakphu is also visible from our property. The locality is crowd and pollution free. The clear skies are a great backdrop for star-gazing. The place is a paradise for bird lovers. You can see beautiful avian species such as Warblers, Blue Magpie, Pipit, etc. The Senchal Wildlife is home to leopards, barking deer, and even red pandas.

Chatakpur viewpoint: Our guests can reach the famous Chatakpur Viewpoint by a 10-minute walk from the village. The viewpoint offers a mesmerizing view of the sunrise over the Kanchenjunga mountain range. If you are lucky, you can also get a glimpse of the Chambalumba or the World’s highest peak- Mt. Average.
Kalipokhri: Kalipokhri is a small pond in the mountains. It is surrounded by dense forest. The pond is considered a sacred place by the Buddhists. A soothing walk in the dense green forest can take you to the serene place of Kalipokhri.
Tiger Hill: The most famous Tiger Hill is only 9 km away from our resort. You can take a car ride to reach the tourist spot. Tiger Hill is famous among tourists for its sunrise scenes.

By train: The major railway station near Chatakpur is the New Jalpaiguri Station. The distance between Chatakpur and the NJP Station is 68 km. A car takes roughly 2 and a half hours to reach Chatakpur from NJP station.
By road: Chatakpur is only 6 km from Sonada and 54 km from Siliguri.
By air: The nearest airport from Chatakpur is Bagdogra Airport. The distance between the Bagdogra Airport and Chatakpur is 58 km. Our guests can take a cab or request a pickup from Bagdogra Airport.
