Satkosia Tiger Reserve in the Angul District of Odisha is a picturesque place, with rivers, green hills, and a dense forest. Jungle Trek : Through the hills, there are a number of trekking routes. A stroll along them with the veteran eco-guides can be a memorable experience for the tourists, with the chance to come across wildlife.
Wildlife and Bird-Watching: Badmul is a great place to see migratory birds. The migratory birds in this region are Brahminy ducks, Bar-headed geese, Pintails, Thick-knees, Lapwings etc. The common resident birds include Pied Hornbills, Peafowls, Kingfishers, Egrets, Cormorants, River Terns, Doves, Woodpecker, Golden oriole, Barbets, Minivets, and Sunbirds. The animals found here generally are – Elephant, Tiger, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Sloth bear, Indian gaur etc. along with crocodiles and turtles on the bank of the river.
Local Culture : Tourists can get a glimpse of the Odisha culture and tradition by watching the local folk dance, which can be arranged with prior request.
Stargazing : The clear sky over the river and gorge in winter is perfect for star-gazing, without any external light source.
Phulbaniand Daringbadi: 2 to 3 hours journey from the property, these places are famous tourist destinations for the Waterfalls, Mountain ranges and Tribal Cultures over the landscape.
Gharial Research and Conservation Unit : In Tikarpada, this center does important research and rearing program on Gharial and Mugger crocodiles.
Nilamadhav Temple : A very old and famous Vishnu temple in Kantilo, on the bank of Mahanadi, surrounded by to the twin hills and forests. A religious place for the Hindus, with great natural beauty.
Kuanria Deer Park and Kuanria Dam : The dam site and adjacent deer park is a tourist favorite place where around 50 variety of migratory birds flock during winter.

Rail : The nearest rail-station is Khurda Jn. From there it is nearly 88 km away which takes 2 hours 30 minutes to reach by car.
Air : The nearest airport is Bhubaneswar (Biju Patnaik International Airport), 113km away and takes a car 3 hours and 30 minutes to reach the place.
Road : From Kolkata, the property is approximately 546 km away and it takes around 10 hours to reach by car.
Best Time to Visit
The sanctuary can be visited during the months of October to February, but the months of December and January are considered to be the best time to visit and enjoy nature here.
