There are only 2 cottages as of now, so a larger family can completely own the place.

Also Visit Chatimtala , the meditation place of Rabindranath’s father Debendranath Tagore and also the foundation spot of Shantiniketan.

Spend leisure time in Khowai region and Kopai River (Rabindranath’sAmader Choto Nadi).

Deer park located near Sriniketan

Kankalitala, 1 and a half hrs away is a temple popular as a Satipeeth.

Surul, located near Sriniketan (6 km away), features temples decorated with terracotta carvings.

Another Satipeeth at Labhpur-Fullara, just 30 km. from Shantiniketan.

Nanoor, famous as the birthplace of the Sanskrit poet of the 14th century – Chandidas.

Kendubillo another destination, popular as the hometown of another renowned Sanskrit poet, Jaidev.

Trip to temples of Tarapith and Bakreshwar are also possible.

Best time to Visit

It is favorable to visit all-round the year. The only time to be avoided is the peak summertime when temperatures get soaring. Other than these 2-4 months, the rest of the year experiences beautiful, palatable weather.

How to Reach

The most convenient way to reach Shantiniketan is by train like Shantiniketan Express and Viswa Bharati Fast Passenger. The nearest station is Bolpur and which is hardly 10 km away from the place. You can easily hire a bus or a cab to drive you to your accommodation’s location. By road, Kolkata to Santiniketan distance is approximately 163 kilometers.
